Tourism Dept holds session on incentives for stakeholders under Industrial Policy 2021 | KNO

Srinagar, 5 July (KNO): In order to expand and facilitate the Tourism infrastructure in the valley, Tourism Department Kashmir in collaboration with the Industries and Commerce Department Jammu and Kashmir on Monday held a hand-holding session on the incentives for tourism stakeholders under the Industrial Policy 2021 at SKICC. An official from the Tourism Department told news agency— Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Industrial Policy 2021 was discussed with the stakeholders associated with the tourism department, and department of Tourism in collaboration with the Industries and Commerce Department, Jammu and Kashmir, whose technical experts explained various components of the policy, which also included the subsidized loan components of the policy. “The purpose of the session was to facilitate the stakeholders on the components of Industrial Policy 2021 for tourism stakeholders," he said. According to the Industrial policy tourism, stakeholders were calibrated on the policies to which they can avail and are entitled to. Under the Industrial Policy 2021, all existing units undertaking substantial expansion shall be entitled to incentives. However, the existing units eligible for incentives shall be allowed to avail the same under the Industrial Policy 2016 till 31-03-2026. Stakeholders from the hotel industry, houseboat industry, tour and travel industry, and other stakeholders associated with the tourism industry were present during the session. (KNO)
